Popping Up In Piccadilly for #AlexisAdventures

Last night (22nd August) i adventured to PopUpPiccadilly at 213 Piccadilly as part of an initiative by PopUp Britain, which gives 60 British retailers, that manufacture in the UK, a space to sell their products for 6 weeks. Two John Lewis in-house visual merchandisers have worked on the design of the space, and John Lewis has also provided furniture for the Piccadilly site.

This is the outside of the shop with its on trend neon pink signage and eye-catching window displays. Its in a super busy location and last night the shop was rammed, which is amazing for all these young talented designers!

As soon as i walked in, my eyes were instantly drawn to the colours of Emma J Shipley’s phenomenal scarves (check our previous blog on her). Just look at her fabulous display:

And the scarves were selling like hotcakes, with a lengthy queue forming at one point! Finally i managed to grab the woman in demand herself to quiz her on her fantastic designs.

This is Emma and her favourite scarf design:

Each scarf takes about 2-3 weeks to construct due to the intricacy and detail required and then it needs to be printed ensuring all the colours are perfect! Emma’s fave is the gorilla silverback print and she refers to him as her ‘lil guy’.

There were loads of other brands selling at the PopUp as well including Oshun, a very sophisticated and glamorous womenswear range, LAWA (Love Art Wear Art), a limited edition shoe brand and Seven Boot Lane, a leather boot company. Check them out!!
